Japan's Finance Ministry denied information about alleged pressure from Scott Bessent, former chief investment officer at Soros Fund Management and current U.S. Treasury Secretary, to strengthen the yen. The authorities emphasized that their currency policy remains the same: intervention is possible only in case of excessive fluctuations in exchange rates.The yen has weakened against the dollar compared to recent highs, but it is too early to talk about a change of trend. Markets are closely watching Tokyo's possible actions in case of increased volatility.USD/JPY remains above the support area (139.50-141.50).
